There is no one single or all-encompassing definition of what a Mommy Athlete must be; there is, however, a steadily evolving group of us. My name is Caitlin. My life before being a mom and an athlete involved working a typical 9-5pm job in New York City with a routine five day per week workout every morning before getting on the train. I dabbled in a few 5Ks here and there during the summer months, mostly to gauge my fitness level. After my kids came along, my workout routine didn’t really change much, but I began to think about what I could accomplish if I really decided to actually push myself to what I was capable of. I gradually found myself running more and more, and steadily increased my threshold. The more goals I reached, the higher I set them; the higher I set them, the stronger I became. Eventually I attained goals I previously assumed had been unattainable. I began to finish half marathons, marathons and eventually triathlons in high volume with competitively respectable times. Finding my physical "nitch" in life has gotten me in touch with other moms with likeminded accomplishments and goals. We have come together to share our stories and our routines with many other moms across the nation. As someone who is motivated and driven to do good in ALL that one does, I also want this website to be the best it can be. In order for that to occur, I will need tons of mommies to reach out to me and share their stories of motherhood, dedication, perseverance, accomplishments and goals. Please....if you have ANY accomplishments to brag about, failures to cry about, routines or recipes to share or bargains to whisper, please contact me! After all, I am a mom of two and a dedicated athlete as well, so I understand! |
